Nothing can replace the role human interaction plays in a child’s growth and development, especially when it comes to acquiring language and developing communication skills. Whether it's playing outdoors, drawing, painting, learning about nature or even reading books, all the activities that take place in Kids 1st nurseries have been designed not only for your children to enjoy, but for them to develop their communication and cognitive skills. Last Monday, 29th January we drove to Kids 1st Bowesfield to visit the nursery and take photos of the children. This Monday, 8th January, we payed a visit to Kids 1st QE nursery. We were greeted by the nicest staff and did a guided tour through the different rooms. The nursery was immaculately clean, and shined with a bright atmosphere. We joined in on a dance class, and had loads of fun with the children. Read more on this blog post.
Last Friday, 5th January, we headed over to our Jesmond's nursery to get to know the staff, the nursery and the children. We helped out with lunch time, and we played with the children while they did their usual activities. Painting and play-dough were some of the activities of the day. Young children need the opportunity to use their whole body and develop their gross motor skills. It's only when they have mastered these that they will be able to control their fine motor skills, such as using a knife and fork or holding a pencil! Many of the fundamental tasks that children must achieve, such as exploring, risk-taking, fine and gross motor development and the absorption of vast amounts of basic knowledge, can be most effectively learned though outdoor play.
