Visiting Kids 1st Nurseries is always a huge pleasure and we always have a great time with the children. From fabulous staff to great looking and clean nurseries, Kids 1st provides the necessary tools for your child's development. We visited Kids 1st Wansbeck last Wednesday, 17th January and we are about to share with you on this blog post how the experience went.

Once we arrived, and before we headed over to the different rooms, we've met all the staff and visited the parents room. Then it was time to see more of the nursery.

As per usual, everything was spotless: there was no dust on the furniture, all the rooms were tidy and complying with health and safety measures; the nursery's bright yellow walls combined with the colourful play areas for the children created a perfect environment for learning: a bright space where children could play, explore, be creative and learn. The nursery windows also let in a lot of natural light into the rooms.

After the initial introductions, we visited the first room, where the children were playing with toys, being read stories, and exploring different textures and colours.

Kids 1st Nurseries staff is crucial to the children's development. At our nurseries, all the staff is qualified and committed to providing the best childcare in the region. The main responsibilities of the staff are to make sure the children are safe, happy and stimulated. The staff is also responsible for communicating information to the children through play and encouraging the children's development. Ultimately, the goal is to create a child friendly environment and to provide the children with the tools they need to be successful in life.

All the toys used at this and all other Kids 1st nurseries are adequate to the child's age. We understand how different toys can have beneficial impacts on a child. For example, some of our toys might play music, encouraging the children to sing and learn new tunes, stimulating different and important parts of the brain such as their cerebrum, cerebellum and limbic system. Other toys might say different phrases or make  distinctive sounds, encouraging their speech and developing their body language.

Some play areas of the nursery were specifically designed to serve a particular purpose. For example, this area was a 'construction' area, where the children could build anything they wanted, using all the tools. Of course they would also have to wear helmets: safety first!

We like to encourage the children to be creative. In order to do this, we utilise materials and objects to simulate real life situations in a playful manner. This helps the children to understand the different professions, as well as it helps them to name and learn how to use certain tools.

All geared up, the children built some interesting structures!

Some children were playing doctors: an exciting activity that even involved a proper treatment room chair and doctor's equipment such as a stethoscope. Here, the children learned how to use each equipment, where to listen to someone's heartbeat, and they even practiced on each other.

Another great activity taking place in one of the rooms was this farm display, where the children could learn about farms while playing with different animals, tractors and trucks.

This soon became a very popular activity...

Some children enjoyed playing with dinosaurs, combining blocks together and placing the animals on top. Check out that perfectly built structure!

The children just loved the camera! And they were super photogenic too!

Kids 1st likes to encourage outdoors play as much as we do indoors. So once the children were ready, we headed outside to play. Everyone put on their boots, coats, scarves and beanies and we headed out for some outdoor fun in the garden.

Sliding was a whole new level of fun for these little ones. So many giggles and happy faces!

After a while, the children went back inside, and it was time for more fun activities! It was time to play a colour sorting game with rubber dinosaurs. The goal was to sort out the dinosaurs into colours by placing them on the correct plates - another activity that stimulated the children and helped towards their development. An activity as simple as this one helps with fine motor development, hand-eye coordination and control, concentration, language development and even mathematics!

We've had an amazing time at Kids 1st Wansbeck. We could tell how truly committed to childcare the staff was. Not only was the nursery immaculate and organised, but the staff was impeccable with the children! These little ones went through so many different activities in a single day and all of them were essential to their development, stimulating different parts of their brains. We can't wait to go back!
