Last Friday, 5th of January we decided to visit our Kids 1st Jesmond nursery to get to know the staff and spend time with the children.

The nursery has been designed to provide a wonderful, child-friend environment with rooms split depending on age group and stage of development. Each room has direct access to large, well-equipped and challenging gardens which have been designed to suit the age groups that use them. With bright yellow colored walls, contrasting with the blue of the fish tank you see as you enter the premises, the nursery has an inviting atmosphere from the second you walk in.

Every single room was super organised and looked clean and inviting. The parent room was also beautifully decorated. The nursery was immaculate!

After the initial tour, it was time to go in the rooms and spend time with the little ones...

Our Starfish were exploring the fun of eating rice krispies. They felt its texture, heard the sound it made when we shook the box, and of course, they ate some!

But these weren't the only activities taking place at the nursery. Check out this fun assembly of cylinders!

As we moved along the rooms, we joined different activities with the children. For example, we helped our Seahorses build some sandcastles and we learned about different shapes and colours!

This little Seahorse's favourite toy was this purple dragon. Not only did she play with the dragon in the sand, she carried it around studying the colour of the dragon's wings. Then we turned our attention to a super fun toy that played a tune when you pressed a button. One of the day's favourites! Check out this happy smile.

At Kids 1st nurseries we encourage creativity as much as possible; it was really fun to help these children to explore different colours and patterns. After the paintings were finished and the children were happy with the final result, we hung the pictures and left them to dry by the window, before they could be offered to the children's parents.

The work in progress...

How great do these paintings look?

Lunch time soon came, and the children finished their plates pretty quickly. At Kids 1st Nurseries we care about nutrition and the health of your child. This is why we have the option to adapt our meals to any allergies or other dietary requirements your children might have.

Today, on the menu we had a well balanced meal of fish and cauliflower...yum!

The play-dough area was pretty exciting too! The children had different tools to shape the play-dough in whichever way they liked. They could also choose the colour of their play-dough, and some of them even mixed some colours together, creating an amazing and creative combination!

Throughout all the activities and different rooms, we witnessed a lot of smiles and giggles.

We had a lovely time at Kids 1st Jesmond and we hope to return soon to spend some more time with these precious little ones. It was interesting to notice, as we moved from room to room, how every child had a personality of their own. At Kids 1st Nurseries we truly believe the saying children are not things to be molded, but people to be unfolded. We provide the children with the tools they need to grow and develop their skills, and we respect each child's personally. We are all different, and we respect that.

We really enjoyed Kids 1st Jesmond. We witnessed many smiles and giggles through the nursery that filled our hearts.
