Young children need the opportunity to use their whole body and develop their gross motor skills. It's only when they have mastered these that they will be able to control their fine motor skills, such as using a knife and fork or holding a pencil! Many of the fundamental tasks that children must achieve, such as exploring, risk-taking, fine and gross motor development and the absorption of vast amounts of basic knowledge, can be most effectively learned though outdoor play. That's right! Santa visited our Durham nursery last Friday, 15th December. All the children were beyond excited to see Santa and, of course, get some presents! We've been to all the rooms and took pictures of the event. Santa was definitely a success among the children. Read more on this blog post.

On Tuesday 13th December, we headed over to Kids 1st Gosforth to watch their nativity play! The children each performed beautifully as you can see!

Last Wednesday, 6th December, the children at Kids 1st Gosforth headed over to the theatre to watch the story 'Me...', a Little Angel Theatre Production about a little Penguin. They took the train and every single child was beyond happy!

We visited Kids 1st Durham on Monday, 27th November. The nursery shines with an inviting atmosphere, modern looking building, creative art on the walls and staircase, providing an exciting and stimulating environment for children. We couldn't leave without playing with the children of course, taking a few photographs of on the way. This blog post is a must!
