Kids 1st Rake Lane is located on the grounds of North Tyneside General Hospital and it was the first of the Kids 1st Nurseries to open. The nursery is split into rooms depending on age group and level of development and each room has direct access to large, well-equipped and challenging gardens which have been designed to suit the age groups that use them.

With so many activities that the children get involved in on a daily basis, it was with a huge pleasure that we have, once again, visited the nursery for some photos, and to spend some quality time with all the children.

All the staff at Kids 1st Rake Lane, as well the rest of Kids 1st Nursery's staff plays a very important role in the children's development. The first years of a child's life are very, if not the most important years of their lives, as this is when they develop their cognitive, motor and communication skills. Kids 1st Rake Lane understands that your child deserves the best, and we proud ourselves on the fact that we provide everything your child needs to prepare them for a successful future.

As we walked around the different rooms, we witnessed the children going about several different activities: from playing with confetti all the way up to painting with different colours and using different textured materials to create the best effects, there were plenty of activities for the children to do.

Green and blue were this little one's favourite colours. She painted a few masterpieces and was happy to run around showing them to everyone, us included.

After all these exciting activities, it was time to clean up all the paint from their hands and move on to the next activity before it was lunch time!

In the other rooms, some children were getting ready to have their lunch, as they adorably sat on their tiny tables and chairs, with very hungry tummies ready for their meals. But before the food arrived, it was time for some more giggles.

We sang a few songs before lunch arrived, and these babies very excited clapping and shouting 'again, again!'. They particularly loved the Itsy Bitsy Spider song, as we ended up singing it at least three times in a row! There was no stopping these two from having lots of fun.

The food finally arrived, and it was time to enjoy their meals, before taking a long and well deserved nap. As the children ate their food, we moved into another room to check out what everyone else was up to, and what exciting activities they had planned for the day.

Enjoying lots of cuddles from the nursery nurses, these Seahorses were also preparing for lunch time, and they all had very hungry tummies! As they sat down for food, smiles appeared on their faces: they knew it was lunch time!

Independently eating and holding their own forks, they devoured their food and emptied the plates super quickly! At Kids 1st Nurseries we are committed to promoting a healthy lifestyle in a bid to help all of the children who attend our nurseries on their way to a long and healthy life. On that day, on the menu we had beans with lots of green vegetables.

We are passionate about the quality of food that we serve and the tastes and flavours that your children experience. All of the food served in our nurseries is freshly prepared everyday by our team of Chefs. We use only quality branded products and have a policy of no added salt and minimal sugar. At Kids 1st we try to instil traditional values such as respect, manners and positive behaviour and this is carried through to mealtimes. All children are encouraged to eat in our dining rooms at the table like they would a family meal.

After the main course, and to finish it all off, the children enjoyed a yummy dessert...how lucky were they?!

Once everyone finished their lunch, the best part of the day arrived: it was time for a much needed nap! After so much running around and so many fun activities during the morning, we're sure that these little ones enjoyed their rest and used it to recharge their batteries. Not that a lack of energy is a problem for any of them...

Before we put an end to our second visit to Kids 1st Rake Lane, we really wanted to check out our Dolphins and what they were up to. So, before saying our goodbyes, we went outside and joined the Dolphins in the garden.

The weather was beautiful: the skies were blue and the sun was shining, so, naturally, the Dolphins took advantage of the glorious weather and they went outside to play in the gardens. Running around, riding bicycles and using the slides, every child was happily running around!

Some Dolphins were collecting some wood sticks for their imaginary fireplace, and they were having lots of fun placing all kinds of shapes and sizes, plus some plants, inside a bag. As they browsed through the playground choosing only the good plants and sticks, you could tell these little ones were having lots of fun.

Moving from one activity to another, the children explored the full wonders that Kids 1st Rake Lane's playground has to offer, making sure they were not missing out on any of the fun. No, not even drawing! Some children decided it was time to get creative with some crayons and blank sheets of paper... and their finished drawings were very interesting and unique! Some even wrote down their names! Wow!

We asked some children what they had drawn, and they were happy to take pictures with their beautiful and colourful drawings.

This day was being amazing. We could not believe how many activities these little ones can go through in a day: puzzles, interactive games, playing outside, using the slides, riding bikes and playing with colourful toys, being red stories..., the children at Kids 1st Rake Lane had everything they need to be successful in life!

Embracing all indoor activities just as much as we do the outdoor ones, at our nurseries we understand that both are not just important, but necessary for your child's development.

Right before we left, and as snack time arrived, the children moved to a designated area in the gardens, where they sat down and ate a delicious banana. But they didn't simply sat down and waited for their snack. They were happy to help in any way they could! This little Dolphin, for example, very confidently helped to distribute glasses amongst his peers, so everyone could have a glass of fresh water with their snack. And check out how many cups he's got piled up!?

After eating their snacks, all that was left to do was to chill out in the sun, before returning to their favourite activity: playing while learning! As for us, we had an amazing day that we wouldn't trade for the world, and we obviously can't wait to return to Kids 1st Rake Lane for more photos. See you soon!
