Kids 1st Sunderland, situated close to the city centre of Sunderland, provides quality childcare in a happy and stimulating environment. The nursery consists of multiple age-specific rooms, each designed to enhance learning and development at an individual pace. All rooms offer direct access to large fully equipped outdoor areas. The children at Kids 1st Sunderland can benefit from lots of extra curricular activities, and they can also enjoy regular trips and outings throughout the year.

The staff works closely with parents, and parents are invited to attend regular parents’ social evenings and play days where they have the opportunity to meet with their child’s key person and talk about their child’s development. The main goal is to provide outstanding childcare every day, and with several Ofsted Outstanding awards, Kids 1st Asbrooke definitely knows how to prepare your child for their future.

We visited the nursery this week, and joined in on lots of exciting activities. Painting and drawing seemed to be the very popular on this day, but there were lots of other interesting things going on at Kids 1st Ashbrooke. As we walked through the different rooms, from Seahorses to Dolphins and Puffins, we documented all the exciting activities in photos we are very happy to share with you.

This day was all about painting for the children at Ashbrooke. Outside, they put on their coats and were ready to take on the world with a brush in their hands. There were many colours to choose from, and with a huge piece of paper in front of them, there was plenty of space to paint and get creative while learning about colours and mixing them all together.

With one side looking very orange and yellow, and the other one in tones of blue and purple, the children moved along the fence as they created a masterpiece!

Soon, all the colours were well mixed together, and the children put their finishing touches as the ink reached some cheeks, hands and noses (but that's all part of the fun, right?).

After the finishing touches, the children were ready to clean up their hands and faces, and they were ready to move back inside and do some more activities! For some, it was time to play with a firemen station, while others enjoyed making us and the staff some cups of tea and cheesy toasts!

Learning about nutrition at the same time as they played, the children were very happy to let us know which vegetables were their favourite. This little one's favourite vegetable was carrots, but not everyone agreed that it was the best vegetable in the world...

In another room, the children were painting with pretty exciting tools! It looked like this day was all about painting! The children used different shapes from squares to stars and circles to create incredible effects on paper. They chose light colours and quickly filled in the whole sheet of paper, covering it in some amazing purple tones!

As these children enjoyed their painting session, we popped in next door to meet one very special friend...

We'd never seen such a giant snail, but the children were very comfortable feeding and holding their not-so-little friend in their hands, giving him cuddles and petting him.

As their learned more about this animal, some children were very brave and held him for a couple seconds.

To celebrate yet another Outstanding Ofsted award, the children then moved on to something very, very exciting! With the help of the staff, they painted their feet spelling the letters of the word 'outstanding', as a way of celebrating the award. After their feet were painted in different colours, they sat on the floor and we took a very cute photo.

Once their feet were clean, it was time to have one last bit of fun before lunch time.

As the hours went by, we wanted to visit our Starfish room, but we got overly excited photographing all of these activities. Unfortunately, it was already bed time for the babies, but we were not defeated! With plans already in place for a return visit to Kids 1st Ashbrooke, we will soon have a special visit dedicated to our babies! We can't wait to return to Kids 1st Ashbrooke for more photos!

See you soon!
