Gardening, obstacle courses and lots of outdoor activities at Kids 1st Wynyard!

When we visited Kids 1st Wynyard last Thursday, 10th May, we knew we were in for a fun day of activities, but we never expected to have as much fun as we did. The amount of games played and activities that the children got involved with at nursery blew our minds: so much creativity, learning and having fun all in one place...

As soon as we arrived, the children were just getting ready to go outside to play. They sat on the step as they put their wellies on, and you could tell by their faces how excited they were to go outside. The weather was also clearing up, which got everyone super excited! 

Once everybody was ready, it was time to run around and start playing. There was so much to choose from: bicycles, a sandbox, tables to write and draw, obstacle courses, and more!

It didn't take long for these little ones to start playing: whether it was writing or drawing on a massive chalkboard; riding bicycles, going through an obstacle course or pretending to ride a big bus with lots of passengers, dropping them off at different stations, the children were quick to choose a station to play in.

The bus was very busy, but all the passengers were successfully dropped off. The children then rehearsed a few scenarios where the bus would have to stop for pedestrians to cross the road. In this way, and by combining fun games with educational purposes, the children learned in the best way: through play!

But the fun didn't stop there...Some children were delighted to be captains of this ship, and they even showed us how to operate the anchor!

While these little ones had fun sailing the seas of their imagination, other children opted for another fun activity: an obstacles course! 

One by one, the children successfully crossed the different challenging obstacles, always with smiles on their faces.

The bus was a success, but it soon turned into a running game where the children would have to catch the driver. You would have had to be there to witness this many giggles in a short period of time! These children were having the time of their lives...

Some children preferred to ride a baby pram in style! Check out those sunglasses...!

Before we moved on to the other gardens, we took a couple of final pictures, before saying goodbye to this very happy and full-of-energy crowd of toddlers.

In the other gardens, though, different activities were taking place. Our preschoolers, the Dolphins were learning all about gardening, as they helped with some very important tasks. Learning more about nature and gardening, and exploring the areas around them kept these children entertained for a good while!

And what a popular activity this was! Everybody was happy to give a helping hand, as they used different tools. They even placed a cute scarecrow and some windmills. The garden was looking very beautiful, thanks to these preschoolers.

Other children were embracing the art of painting! With a huge white sheet of paper in front of them, they got creative, using lots of different and happy colours. The result? A masterpiece!

We tried to document everything that was going on in those gardens, but trust us, there were even more activities taking place at Kids 1st Wynyard. 

This little one, for example, was having fun balancing on this beam. She even managed to do it while holding her drawing. How brave!

On the other hand, some children preferred to build a fireplace, using some wood. With lots of objects and activities to accommodate for every child's taste, there was plenty of things to do at Kids 1st Wynyard. It was great to see the children so excited to play with their peers while doing different activities.

We'd like to finish this post with this photo, which revealed an undeniable truth: Every child is an artist, and the children at Kids 1st Wynyard are no exception!
