All of our nurseries have been designed to provide a wonderful, child-friend environment with rooms split depending on age group and stage of development. At Kids 1st Nurseries we aim to instil traditional family values, teaching children the importance of good manners and how to behave appropriately, both in the nursery environment and in the wider community. We feel this approach sets good standards of behaviour that will stay with the child forever.

Last Tuesday, 20th February , we joined the children at Kids 1st Quorum in their activities. The sun came out to greet us, so we got to enjoy the outdoor gardens. All children had a blast running around, riding bicycles, walking on a beam, playing with buckets, sand, water and more!

The bicycles were definitely a successful activity. Well-equipped with helmets and coats to fight the winter cold, the children were ready to have the time of their lives playing in the garden.

There's nothing more satisfying than hearing children's laughter, and this playground sure was filled with it.

'No room for two on the wheel? No problem!' The children still enjoyed the ride on the backseat of this cool bicycle! They could have played like this for hours!

From learning to developing their creativity, not forgetting their independence and social skills development, the importance of outdoor play for children is evident. Exploring nature and the outdoors world can have so many benefits on your children. Firstly, the physical exercise helps to develop large motor and small motor skills as well as cardiovascular endurance in children, but there are many other benefits of playing outdoors. With the increase in numbers of children spending a predominate amount of time inside, at Kids 1st we make sure we give just as much importance to outdoor as we do for indoor play.

Using open space to fulfill basic childhood needs—jumping, running, climbing, swinging, racing, yelling, rolling, hiding, and making a big mess—is what childhood is all about! For a variety of obvious reasons many of these things cannot occur indoors. Yet children must have these important experiences. Today children’s lives are more and more contained and controlled by small apartments; high-stakes academic instruction; schedules; tense, tired, and overworked parents; and by fewer opportunities to be children. Outdoor environments fulfill children’s basic needs for freedom, adventure, experimentation, risk-taking, and just being children!

After one last group picture, we headed back inside to check on the other rooms. We were starting to wonder what everyone else was up to at Kids 1st Quorum! Lucky for us, story time was just about to start! Sitting on the floor and in the designated story-time area, these curious children attentively listened to the tale.

Once the story finished, it was lunch time and there were some very hungry tummies in this room!

As we prepared the dining area for the children, their faces lit up with excitement!

It was then time to sit at the table and put a colourful apron on, before devouring a nutritious meal.

Inspecting this sandwich before eating it was a must for this little one!

At Kids 1st Nurseries we pay very close attention to nutrition requirements that children might have, making all the necessary changes to accommodate for the children's needs. Whether it's allergies, veganism or vegetarianism and other, at Kids 1st we are sure to make all necessary adjustments.

Do you think this little one is enjoying his sandwich...? We thought so too!

As the children finished off everything on their plates, we headed over to a different room to check out story-time. The children sat on the floor and parents were invited to join in on this super exciting activity!

As the day was coming to an end, we couldn't leave without checking out the babies' room and what activities they were doing.

...Needless to say these cute faces didn't disappoint! The babies were crawling and walking around the room, playing in the ball pool and with all kinds of toys!

As usual, we've had a fabulous time at Kids 1st Quorum. We hope to come back soon to document more fun activities, smiles and, of course, outdoor play! But before we say goodbye, we'd like to share a few more photos we took on our latest visit to the nursery.

We can't wait to go back to Kids 1st Quorum and have more fun taking pictures. See you soon!
