Last Wednesday, 21st March, also known for being World Down's Syndrome Day, in order to show support for all children with Down's Syndrome, the children and staff at Kids 1st Hexham came together and wore odd socks, as well as they donated £1 for a very good cause.

Yellow and blue, pink and white, the children were not shy running around the rooms, showing us their colourful odd socks.

As usual, every child was very happy, and the nursery had lots of activities going on for everyone: from painting to playing with water or play-dough, the children had enough space for freedom and entertainment, as well as lots of books, objects and toys to choose from.

The play-dough area tends to be a success on its own, but what brought the whole table to life were definitely the smiles and giggles of all the children who played in it.

Playing with water and different shapes was also a very popular activity. The children gathered around this play area, well-equipped, as they learned about the different objects in this pool: there were sharks, dolphins, and even a tiny but very functional windmill. How could you not have fun with so many options to choose from?

After playing with the different objects, some children also enjoyed washing up some socks and even placing them inside a tiny washing machine, as a way of celebrating 'Lots of Socks Day'.

Celebrating World Down's Syndrome Day was a great opportunity to raise awareness for Down's Syndrome, and the children rocked those odd socks around nursery in a very fashionable way. Between odd socks, play-dough, and all the other activities that took place at the nursery, it was impossible for our little ones not to have fun.

Of course we couldn't leave without taking a few more photos of these little but incredible children...

We can't wait to return to Kids 1st Hexham to spend more time with all the children. See you soon, Kids 1st Hexham!
