With purpose-built nurseries, fully trained staff, outstanding Ofsted reports, secure door entry systems and fresh, homemade food, Kids 1st Nurseries provide a childcare environment that is safe, exciting and nurturing, to ensure that your children receive the best possible start in life. Last Thursday, 15th February, we headed over to Kids 1st Darlington for a long overdue visit. The timing actually ended up being perfect, because the nursery was celebrating their 10th year anniversary! Happy birthday, Darlington!

We were excited to get to know the staff, nursery and of course, all the children! The nursery was incredible, with great staff members and super enthusiastic and creative kids. Join us on this journey through the nursery and all the different activities that took place.

Room after room, from the youngest to the oldest children, we were greeted with many different facial expressions, smiles and giggles that made the children's personalities shine through the camera lens. Documenting our visits to the nurseries is not only a great way to witness the children's growth and development over time, but also a very gratifying experience on a personal level. Being around children is incredible. We can teach them so much but also learn a lot from them.

In one of the rooms we visited, the children were having the time of their lives playing with noodles! With aprons on, they delightfully explored the texture, colour and flavour of the noodles...because, how can you really know certain foods if you don't try them, right? This little one on the photo could not have enjoyed more such a fun activity!

Some children, even though very entertained with the noodles, showed a particular interest in this weird black object that entered the room: a camera! We took a few pictures of these youngsters, and then the children had a go themselves at taking a few photos. Some of them were loving the camera, following us around being very curious.

Oh, hi there, camera! Check out my pretty smile...!

In other rooms, children were listening to Disney songs through some headphones - it doesn't get more exciting than Disney..ever! While some were singing along, other children were very focused on the melody.

Being able to dress up and having a whole doctor's office with so much medical pretend gear was very exciting. The children took turns pretending to be a doctor and they had a go at vaccinating their colleagues, putting bandages around their arms or hands, and even pretending to give them medication for the pain. The creativity level was through the roof!

Playing pretend doctor was fun, but nothing quite beats a good old book! With his very colourful top, this pretty face enjoyed sitting on the floor while scrolling through the pages of a very interesting book about animals.

Some of the children were doing a very exciting activity: they had to find different shapes on the floor and name them. They also had to say which colour the shapes were. The different triangles, circles and squares were spread throughout the floor, and the children took turns trying to guess their colour and finding the shapes. Once they had found the right colour and shape, they were to sit on them before being crowned the winners! - a super exciting activity that stimulated their motor skills, cognitive development and balance functions.

The game was a success, and the children kept laughing as they rushed to grab the shapes and find the right colours. They might have felt a little tired at the end of the game, but the purpose of the game was to get those muscles moving a little!

To celebrate the nursery's 10th anniversary, we couldn't help but take some pictures of the children next to the big balloons!

We're had an amazing day at Kids 1st Darlington. Being able to spend time with the children and taking pictures of their activities is the most gratifying thing in the world. We couldn't finish this post without sharing a few more photos with you. So, sit back and enjoy these last ones:

See you next time, Darlington! We can't wait to go back!
